Trudeau to divert focus away from WE by calling full public inquiry on Wortman ?

Trudeau is ruthless enough - but is he smart enough - to throw friends under the bus to “Give media WORTMAN to save WE” ?
To save their own skins, are Justin Trudeau and the federal Liberals about to announce a full public inquiry - with real teeth - on the Wortman file ?

With full powers to compel witnesses to testify under oath and with full subpoena powers to obtain documents back from the shredding machines ?

Sure, it would mean throwing both provincial Liberal leader Stephen McNeil AND the federal RCMP under the bus.

But, let’s be honest : as all the startling, disgusting, fascinating revelations start emerged about Wortman and his relationships with the Mounties and HRM police, who would bother reading about the tawdry but much less titillating details in the WE scandal ?

The counter theory is that Trudeau Junior is too stupid to seize the opportunity : where other -wiser -politicians see even the hint of scandal as a potential danger zone, Justin just sees a shovel and proceeds to dig himself ever deeper into the murk of his own making.

Currently my money is on the latter view : I don’t think anyone will ever go broke under-estimating the innate lack of street smarts from this sheltered scion of parents from two very privileged and wealthy families..

  2. we need not just an inquiry - there will definitely be one - we need an public inquiry with all the traditional powers and one without its terms of refrences written to exclude all the important stuff...

  3. Exactly. But Stephen the old dog is stubborn and as we have arrived upon a clearing he keeps tugging on the leash trying to force us down the path MORE traveled. I feel all of us in Nova Scotia: civilians, journalists etc are choking on Stephen. We're not getting the air we need, we're going blue in the face, so far theres no one to come help. Stephen's kind of stupid which can be okay for a humble politician but when combined with a rotten temperament that red flag has been flapping pretty loud in tge wind lately. Unfortunately even though he's not intelligent in the traditional sense of the world Stephen is still an old wily dog and wise in his ways learned through the arid political landscape of Nova Scotia. Like an Elephant that has the geographical mapping for scarce resources Stephen always finds his way back to the puddle he's been slurping at for years. A puddle of servility and credulity that Stephen lives from. The puddle upon closer examination is as deep and wide as the Atlantic ocean. I'm almost ready for big strong Justin to wrap his arms around me from behind and give a good forceful compression and help force that useless chewed up hunk of meat Stephen out of our throats. Its like stockholme syndrome Justin's no hero, he'll go back to kicking us in the ribs in the dark the second we blink but even that is better than having to watch Mark Furey cuddle up to the RCMP like Burt abd Ernie, sure behind the scenes theres some small disagreements about cookie crumbs but other than that a united front.
