first Wortman Inquiry witnesses : the father & son mounties on the job April 18th

matching serge uniforms for father & son team on the PORTAPIQUE case that night
Here’s the first pair of witnesses I’d like to hear from on the first day of the “insiders-probing-insiders” Wortman Inquiry :

(My fingers itch to type WHITEWASH instead of INQUIRY...)

...the mountie son, apparently second on the scene at Portapique on April 18th and his mountie pa, apparently the staff sergeant in charge that night back at the North West NS mountie HQ.

I certainly feel for any boss-dad who has to order his own child into an almost certain fling at death against a heavily armed mass killer, under the new mountie doctrine re mass killers : “engage immediately, don’t wait for backup.”

From all accounts, depending on numbers available, you form a sort of diamond and proceed, guns potentially blazing, against the last known spot of the killer.

Not easily done in a deeply dark deeply wood night.

Still, I’d like to hear from father and son whether the doctrine was even attempted that first night.

We badly need to know : because this will not be the last mass shooting in rural Canada, nor the last done in the dark.....
