ghost of monster ALLAN LEGERE haunts NB’s NON-coverage of Gabriel Wortman

New Brunswick is frequently compared to the equally bilingual states of Belgium and Switzerland ——except its found to be even more boring.

It is also a bit like Africa, in that about the only time it is likely to draw international media coverage is if there is widespread famine down there ——- or Allan Legere escapes yet again.

Legere, the Monster of the Miramachi, just lived to murder, to burn, to assault women, to use disguises and false names, to evade the police.

His only explanation for his behaviour was that he wanted to make others pay for his hurt, hurt felt from having an absent father and brother while very young.

Humm - it does sounds very familiar, yes ? 

The months of unfavourable international media attention upon New Brunswick began in May 3 1989 and ended November 24 1989 —- seven humiliating long months when the authorities of New Brunswick were constantly being compared to bumbling Keystone cops as Legere escaped the hapless Mounties time and again while he murdered and burned and savagely assaulted.

Publicly hated by most New Brunswickers ; secretly admired by a minority of the province who enjoyed watching him make a fool of his elders.

Interestingly, the young impressionable Gabriel Wortman began using false names and false IDs and mysterious disappearing for days at a time without explanation, not long after these events, according to to his roommate at his UNB dorm - the year his behavoir was so repugnant that his dorm voted him UNB’s asshole of the year and gave him the dreaded CHUCK COSBY award.

So now you better understand why the seasoned news editors in New Brunswick have united, as one body, to restrain their young eager-beaver staff from looking into Gabriel Wortman - who spent most of his life based out of New Brunswick.

They don’t want unfavourable international media coverage on their pretty but neglected province —- and they particularly don’t want anyone drawing  up the uncanny parallels between the murder sprees of Allan Legere and Gabriel Wortman and whether or not the tactics and international infamy of Legere later inspired Wortman in his murder spree.

Another New Brunswick mass murderer burning and killing and evading hapless Mounties : God No ! Please God No !
