Gabriel Wortman, as seen through TV-addled eyes

If you watch a lot of TV,  you’ve all seen this scenario played out oh so many times.

They are at a party and suddenly the spouse pulls out his phone and has an animated video conversation with his current mistress, right there, in the middle of everyone - total humiliation for the woman.

If this was American show, she stands up and loudly declaims, “This is so over, I’m out of here, going home to mother, you’ll be hearing from my lawyer” and then stomps off.

In the British version, she sees him on the phone but pretends not to  —— and gracefully moves herself and her current conversation into another room : still dutifully keeping up appearances.

In the Canadian version, she hears the video conversation, feels humiliated, gets angry and the pair take their argument to their home, where a little while later they settle the argument and she goes off to bed to a sound sleep.

A short time later .... she is awoken by her spouse.

Who is planning to kill her and burn her.

And then to kill and burn everyone and everything else in the whole world.

GOTTERDAMMERUNG  : served with lobsters, potatoes...and dulse
