did YOU or a FRIEND live in BRIDGES HOUSE, UNB 1986-1987 : then you can help the RCMP inquiry into what led your dorm-mate Gabriel Wortman to kill 24 people
Living in a student dorm - particularly Bridges House (UNB’s Animal House), particularly back in the loosey-goosey 1980s - is like living in a giant fish bowl for a year with no showers : ordinary interactions can begin to get, well, really stinky .
You get to see far more of some of your fellow mankind then you really want to see.
And at Bridges House, in the 1980s, you could do something about it.
The famous and then infamous CHUCK COSBY award, a chance to cast a secret ballot as to the biggest loser, the biggest asshole in the dorm , and by popular acclaim usually the biggest arsehole across the entire UNB campus.
Gabriel Wortman, “the Portapique spree killer” was in the Bridges House residence that year.
A number of his fellow dorm mates and their significant others, say that he won the award that year.
Maybe he did, maybe he did not, maybe he just got nominated - the shame of that was often as bad as the award itself.
But only you one hundred or so fellow dorm mates can answer this question for sure : were there good signs as early as 1987 that Gabriel Wortman was one seriously warped individual ?
