Bridgedale when Gabriel Wortman grew up there was a fully rural village : basically still is

If you’ve ever recall driving through the very urban and urbane centre of Riverview New Brunswick and now say to yourself, so that is where NS mass killer Gabriel Wortman grew up, guess again.

He grew up way out in the sticks, in the still rural part of Riverview City — in a tiny remote village called Bridgedale. Basically to the west is  the very large built up square of urban streets that is Riverview proper —- way off to the east, beyond miles of woods and up against the river is the little tiny village of Bridgedale - still technically inside the legal boundaries of Riverview City.

Just as urban Halifax is an universe away from Moser River yet both are technically inside the legal boundaries of Halifax City.

If you can’t get urban growth the conventional way, city fathers and provincial government fake it, by including enough rural population till the city population reaches a politically sexy number.

Fraud basically.

Even today Bridgedale is still only nine streets in total, looking somewhat like a premature wannabe urban subdivision built twenty years early and twenty km away from the centre of Moncton.

An ideal place to run about with loud large motorcycles at all hours , a twin passion of Gabriel and his dad, and firing off airguns without worrying about what the urbanites might think.

Grown-up Gabriel had about 20 motorbikes and God alone knows how many illegal high powered weapons and ammo and once again lived much of the time in a remote rural location, off the beaten track where a man can live free, breathe free, blah blah blah : a place where villains can do whatever they want....
