inquiry demands : for premier McNeil, with enemies like Houston & Burrill, who needs friends ?

None of Nova Scotia’s three big parties wants a Gabriel Wortman public inquiry, at least not a real public inquiry : that’s cruel.

In the two decades of tolerating the millionaire medical professional’s violence, all three parties were in power and none are eager to share the blame when the blame does finally emerge.

If McNeil is soundly defeated on this RCMP ‘rural policing by remote control’ issue and I believe he will be, it will be in spite of his political opponents, not because of them.

The key ‘swing voter’ bloc in this province are older rural Nova Scotians.

And trust me, they are sick to death (and scared to death) that if they have to call for real help in the middle of a home invasion, that help might come too little and come too late, come from some undermanned centralized concrete bunker a 150 km away over rough roads.

And the CFA constable won’t know their village , won’t know its off-road getaway trails, won’t know its bad guys, won’t know a Back Road from a Front Harbour.

Timmy and Gary and Stevie : people out there beyond the big city lights are scared and angry ; talk to them, speak up, grow a pair....
